Heating and cooling our homes, schools and other buildings uses more energy than any other system. Heating and cooling systems also contribute to global climate change -- the U.S. Department of Energy estimates that in the United States these systems emit 150 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year.

These activities focus on the linkages between heating and climate change.
